Panorama of Sustainable Fintechs

Finance for Tomorrow, in conjunction with ADEME, is publishing the ‘ Panorama of French Sustainable Fintechs ‘ for the first time in October 2022.

For the first edition of the ‘Panorama of French Sustainable Fintechs’, the work carried out by Finance for Tomorrow, in collaboration with ADEME, focused on defining a classification of sustainable fintechs based on explicitly defined criteria. The aim is to enrich this Panorama from year to year, with contributions from the Fintechs themselves.

Sustainable Fintechs are defined as start-ups offering innovative solutions, through the use they enable or the technology they employ, applied to the financial sector with the aim of supporting the Sustainable Development Goals and/or reducing the sector’s impacts.

In 2022, 102 sustainable Fintechs were listed. Of all French fintechs, 11% are involved in green finance. The majority of sustainable fintechs deal with data, project finance, payment services and neobanks.
